Our latest 5k winner was Daniel Handisides (Steel City) in 20:24. Gavin Newhouse finished second in 20:52 with third overall and first female Katrina Prior (CERC) with a big course pb of 22:33. Katrina was almost 3 minutes quicker than her previous best. Third male was Karl Wilde 22:39. Second female was Heidi Josephs (CERC) 24:57 with mother and daughter Erin and Leila Shaw in joint third 25:23.
Trophies were presented to those who improved on their best times at Holmebrook. After improving his best by over 3 minutes in January Stephen Bennett improved yet again knocking a further 1:26 finishing in 29:09. Karl Wilde was 34 seconds quicker with 22:39. Another improver for the second month running was Allison Wilbourne whose time of 29:36 took a further 46 seconds of last months time, but as mentioned already, performance of the day was Katrina Prior with an improvement of 2 minutes 49 seconds.
In the 1500m it was Jack Cane first in 6:57 with two from CERC in second and third. Toby Collard 7:40 and Dylan Josephs 8:59. Another CERC runner Holly Rogers was first female in 9:07.
As usual it’s a big well done to everyone who ran today and also to all the marshals and helpers. Hope to see many of you again next month on Sunday 31st March which just happens to be Easter Sunday.
