We couldn’t do without you so thank you to everyone (runners & helpers) who turned up at Holmebrook Valley Park for our latest event.
Race regular Gavin Newhouse was the 5k race winner in 20:42 followed by NDRC’s Jack Morley in 21:21. Cannon Events rising star Josh Webster was third in 22:15. Josh also took home a trophy as the third most improved time this year. North Derbyshire’s Derry French was the most improved posting a time of 22:57 while well known local runner Kevin Loftus posted the third best improved time with 25:42.
Emma Rhodes, Cannon Events RC, finished first female in 26:12 followed by fellow club member Katrina Prior who also took home a most improved trophy for her 26:17. Regular visitor and Lonely Goat RC member Erica Bramhall was third in 26:53
In the 1500m Charlie Rogers 6:45 and Toby Collard 6:49 showed their competitiveness with Charlie just edging out Toby by 4 seconds, are they the next Coe and Ovett?, watch this space. Sophie Archer was the first femaie with a fine 7:29 time just pipping Lilly Rogers by 2 seconds with Olivia Rhodes next in 7:51. Olivia took home a most improved trophy for her time along with Johanna Taylor 8:11 and Lilly Rogers 7:31.
A special mention to 13 year old Max Waine who completed the double of 1500m and 5k.
We have a long wait for the next event but make a note for next month when we will be back at Holmebrook on Sunday 30 July.
